Will it work if I plug in an external hard drive for Windows into the MacPro?

I'm using MacPro , but I want to connect an external hard drive because of the capacity problem

I looked it up and found that there's no Mac-only external hard drive, so I think I usually use it on Windows. Will it work on MacPro as well?
