Is curry powder bitter?

I had curry powder at home, so I tried cooking with this. I made curry rice, but it tastes much bitter than the curry I used to know.

Is it because the curry is old or deteriorated Or is it originally bitter?

It's not famous curry powder, but it's my first time seeing it, but I don't know what it tastes like because it's unfamiliar.
