Surfing in Bali

I booked a trip to Bali for 3 nights and 4 days, but I've never surfed before, but I want to try it this time.I think I will be surfing in Kuta. How much should I put in for surfing?

I was wondering if it would be better to continue surfing just to learn properly

or to go sightseeing in the ubut area, so please advise
