Is it worth taking public transportation in Jeju Island in the summer?

I was looking for a place to travel in the summer, and I talked with my friend about going to Jeju Island. Both of them didn't have licenses, so I couldn't rent them, so is it possible to go by public transportation?

I think you'll walk a lot then. I was wondering how it was in the summer.

Is it okay to catch a bus or taxi?
