Which do you recommend more, Danang or Kota Kinabalu?

I'm planning to go in September, but I'm thinking about going somewhere between Da Nang and Kota Kinabalu, so I don't know where to go because I haven't been to a vacation spot. I'll stay in the resort for a long time, but I'd like a place where I can do other things, too
