Meaning of g in a paper unit

Life Style

I looked at the copy paper and there were 75g, 80g, 85g, but I thought it would be much heavier if it were 500 sheets.

Besides, the weight doesn't seem to vary depending on the length of life

I'm not sure what it means, but what does  g mean?

pu1. G is the weight per sheet of paper, so the larger the g, the thicker the paper becomes. Usually, if it's more than 85g, you can count it as a good piece of paper.
