TN panel vs IPS panel with gaming monitor

I'm looking for a gaming monitor, and there's a saying that it's good for gaming monitors because the TN panel has a good reaction speed, and I know that TN panels are bad to use because of their narrow viewing angle, but is it different when playing games?
