Do I need to encode to watch videos on my phone?

I didn't care because I didn't have to watch videos on my phone, but I thought it would be nice to watch videos when I have time.

In the past, there used to be a process of encoding it to fit into a phone, but is that still necessary these days?

I think I used the next pod encoding before.

pu1. You can just copy and view files on Android. You don't need to encode it separately
