When can I get a refund if I cancel my order after paying by credit card?

It's my first time using a credit card on the Internet, how does it proceed if I cancel my order after paying with a card on the Internet?

Is it like a refund after the money is removed from the monthly statement?

Or is the money not being paid because it has been canceled at all?

pu1. It's just like offline. If you receive the statement, it shows that the payment was canceled. Of course, it doesn't cost money
