Can I use LG U+ used phone as a skt?

I bought a used phone to get a phone as repair cost was high, so I'm just going to use it for a while now. Among used phones, LG U+ carriers are really cheap. I know it wasn't used when I was 2g phones, but isn't it okay to use 3g or 2g phones?
