Do I need a suitcase when I travel abroad for 2 days and 1 night?

I'm going to Japan for 2 days and 1 night, do you need a suitcase?

I don't think I'll have much time to go sightseeing because I'm just going to see a concert.

I'm not going to go shopping this time, so I don't have to take my suitcase, right?

pu1. It's like a trip for 2 days and 1 night. You can just put it in a regular backpack and take it with you
