Why is it monitoring or not depending on the type of computer?

I have two computers at home, one is a laptop and one is a desktop.

I got a used LCD monitor from my friend this time, and when I connected it, the message that my laptop works well, but when I connected it to my desktop, I couldn't display the screen. Why is that?

The connection itself is good

pu1. I think it might be because the desktop is the latest graphics card. I heard that there are cases where the old LCD monitor doesn't work with the latest graphics card
