Can't you rip off what you bought at the duty-free shop overseas?

I heard that I shouldn't rip off what I bought at the duty-free shop. Do I really have to take it back to Korea without opening it and bring it back to Korea and use it?

The volume of the wrapping paper is really big, but I think it would be very inefficient to take it like this.

pu1. When you go out of Korea, you have to take it on the plane without tearing it, or you can't take it off because it could be subject to liquid regulations or other restrictions. When you arrive overseas, you can throw away all the wrapping paper and put it in your suitcase
