Recommend a place for 3 men to travel abroad

I want to go to Southeast Asia with 3 friends. I want to go either Thailand or the Philippines. Which one would be better?

I am planning to go in January next year for 4 nights and 5 days.

Where should I go?

They both say that prices are cheap and good for playing, but I'm conflicted.
