Can I exchange the cosmetics I received as a gift for another product?

I got SKII cosmetics as a gift, but it smells a bit bad because it's a Pitera Essence, so I had a hard time in the past lol. I bought it at the department store, so I also got a receipt.

I need something else, so I want to change it. If I take it to the department store, can I exchange it for another product?
