Please let me know the cost of getting a cell phone checked at the A/S center

I have a cell phone that doesn't work well. I've been using it for a while, so I'm wondering if I'll get an a/ss or not. I don't know if it'll cost more than a new phone. How much does it cost to check if it's available at the p>a/s center?

It can't be free, right?
